Foxy week ending 1/25…

All electrical and plumbing fixtures were installed this week.  The garage door and compressor were also installed – yeah!!!!  Foxy got her number too.  The door hardware and wood floors go in next week and if the weather holds up the driveway will be poured.

The Best Week Ever! With Pictures To Prove it…

JL Did NOT Disappoint!

John Legend crooned to a full house at Nokia Live last night.  It was my first time at that particular venue, although I have dropped T off a couple of times for concerts with friends.  To my unpleasant surprise I had to pay $15 bucks to park!  After returning from an ATM machine as C and I entered the parking lot there was a signed posted that Estelle, the scheduled opening act for John would not be performing.  Instead it would be Vaughn Anthony – **first thought… who da F*&K is that?!

Anyway, after some well seasoned chicken strips and a overly priced mojito we made our way to the seats.  Vaughn Anthony shortly appeared.  After a few notes, C leaned over said "he trying to sound like John Legend!"  I agreed.  He wasn't bad, but thinking he was biting off John's sound was annoying!  However, his songs started sounding pretty good, before I knew it – I was starting to like him.  I later figured out why…. John Legend is his older brother!  Anthony sings back up for John and is trying to get his career off the ground.  Check him out here!  Thanks for not showing up Estelle… I'm really not that into you anyway!

Well, the rule was no cameras or video allowed so I smuggled in my little Casio.  Come to find out EVERYBODY had cameras!  Wish I could of had my nice Cannon camera.  Due to the lack of zoom,  my pictures look crappy!  I took some video, they are crappy too 🙂 C's camera capture much nicer video which I'm posting.

He is a little fella in person!  Ooooh his little lips are so cute (close ups thanks to the two jumbo screens).  I'm gay… but this man's cuteness factor is off the hinges!  Undeniable ador-a-bility 🙂

Thanks John!  I enjoyed you!!!!

PS: I won't be disappointed if you don't sing any songs from your new CD Evolver.  Just saying, love you though!

New Home Updates

Foxy is coming along great!  The base paint has been done, next will be the accent painting.  Kitchen and bathroom back splashes started and the tile in the kitchen and bathroom started…  This week the plumbing and electrical is going in.  Hoping they start the hardwood flooring this week!

For the last time… No, I’m not a Designer!

Ok, my current home is on the market.  It was listed with a Realtor about a week ago – so, she held an Open House last Sunday.  This week there was a tour on Monday by the Realtors for her office and yesterday was the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) tour.

I explained to her that I work from home and will not leave for tours and showings.  She was OK with that, with the exception of the Open House.  It was cool because it was on Sunday from 2-4 and I'm usually gone anyway.  In the last couple of months that is the time frame I'm out at the new house checking on the building progress.

Since the house was listed everyone has been making a huge deal about how I've decorated the home.  I honestly don't get it!  I even said to one of the Realtors that I didn't see the big deal.  She said "because its you!"  Still don't quite get that.

Anyway, during the tours on Monday and Tuesday approximately 30 – 40 people came through to look at the property.  I continued to work at my desk as they looked around.  All the feedback was super positive!  I overheard many people ask the Agent "Does a Interior Designer live here?" "Is she a Designer"  She would tell them no and they would stick their head in the room I was working and say things like, "I love your home!" "You have wonderful taste!"  A few people even thought the home was staged and asked if the furniture came with it.  The Agent said she had to tell them no and that someone lived here.

The new house offers a new decorating challenge that I'm excited about!  I just hope this one doesn't sell before my new home is finished in March.  If so I might have to sleep in a box during the interim.

The compliments are very nice!  And actually made me feel pretty good :)  I just have fun decorating, and love modern decor.   Simple as that!   But a Designer I am not.  Here are a couple of pictures that the agent took,

What’s Your EQ?

A = 7
B = 5
C = 1

Walk that walk, hepcat. You keep your finger on the pulse of every scene and get a special thrill when the bartender remembers your drink. Enemies call you a poseur; friends call you for advice on the newest place in town. Credit card balance? That’ll sort itself out…

When it comes to home furnishings you gravitate towards the latest trends in the hottest colours. You prefer clean lines, bold hues and lots of glitz and glam. Polished chrome accessories, like the Glamor clock and Fasette candle holders, are your accents of choice when it comes to decorating your space.

Your furniture selections are streamlined, crisp and always look like they’ve just been delivered. Bold, glamourous and edgy, the Milo collection sums up your style to a tee. Toss in a splash of colour with the Lola sofa and chaise in Oscar Grape Juice and you are ready to sip martinis before a night out on the town.

Ok.  Well I don't like the Milo collection or the Lola sofa. And I don't let my credit card balance sort itself out 🙂

However, I do like the MATT Rocker and have decided on Pacific (blue) leather instead of the red.  What's your EQ?
